Why we started it
Finding an electrician usually means ringing around, or filling in a form and fielding calls from several businesses who all got the same job. Neither tells you who's actually good at the thing you need done.
A sparky who fits downlights all week isn't automatically the right one for rewiring a house with old rubber wiring, or for the charger and switchboard work an EV needs. So we match on the kind of job first, then the postcode.
The same idea works for electricians. Jobs they're good at, and a homeowner whose details go to the one electrician who takes the job, so nobody else is ringing them.
What we do, and what we leave to the electrician
We check electricians before they get jobs, match each job to one of them, and write plain-English guides on the rules in each state. We don't quote, do, supervise or sign off electrical work. The electrician you're matched with does all of that, under their own licence.
We can't send help in an emergency either. Sparks, a burning smell or someone hurt is a 000 call, and fallen lines or a dark street go to your electricity network.
Who's behind it
Sparky Next Door is run by Blufire Pty Ltd, ABN 14 665 545 282.

Where we're at
The site is new, and we take jobs from anywhere in Australia. Each one goes to an electrician who has passed our checks and does that kind of work, not to whoever happens to be free.
