For electricians

Jobs for electriciansOne job, one sparky. Yours, if it's your kind of work.

Sparky Next Door sends each homeowner's electrical job to one licence-checked electrician who covers that postcode and does that kind of work regularly. The job isn't shared with anyone else. You pay us per job passed on, homeowners pay nothing, and the homeowner has already agreed to hear from you.

How is this different from a shared lead?

A shared lead turns into a race. The same job reaches several electricians, and whoever rings first usually gets it. Ours don't work that way. The job shows to the checked electricians nearby who do that kind of work, and only the one who takes it gets the homeowner's details. Nobody else is ringing them, so once it's yours you can call back when you're off the ladder, not from the top of it.

We also match on the work as well as the postcode. When you join, we record the jobs you do regularly and the evidence for each, and that list decides what reaches you. If you're the switchboard and EV charger person in your patch, those are the jobs you'll hear about.

What comes with each job

  • The kind of job, from a short list: switchboards and safety switches, EV chargers, smoke alarms, fault finding, rewiring, mains and meters, and more.
  • How soon the homeowner needs it, from today through to just planning.
  • Their postcode, first name, mobile and email.
  • Their consent to be contacted about this job by one licensed electrician.

Who we're looking for

Electrical contractors who hold the contracting licence their state requires, carry public liability insurance and have an ABN. In Victoria that means being a Registered Electrical Contractor. In Western Australia it means an electrical contractor's licence with an EC number.

We'd rather have an electrician who does three kinds of job very well than one who says yes to everything. Matching only works if the list of jobs you give us is honest, and we ask for evidence behind each one.

What your agreement sets out

The fee per job, how you're billed and the rest of the commercial terms are set out in writing in your agreement before you take any job. We take jobs from homeowners anywhere in Australia, and electricians anywhere in Australia can apply.

Pricing, how leads work and areas go into the detail. The electrician FAQ covers the rest.
