About us

Terms of useWhat we do, and what we can't promise.

These terms set out what you can expect from us when you use this site and the quote form, and what you can't. In plain terms, we're a referral service. The electrician we match is an independent business, and any agreement for the work is between you and them.

Updated 29 October 2026 · Written by the Sparky Next Door team · How we check our facts

What we do

We match your job with one licensed electrician who covers your postcode and does that kind of work, and with your consent we pass them your details. That's the whole service.

What the electrician does, and who's responsible

The electrician quotes, does the work, tests it and gives you the certificate your state requires. They run an independent business, licensed in your state. They aren't our employee or agent, and they're responsible for their own work.

Your agreement for the job is with the electrician, so read their quote and terms before you say yes. You never have to go ahead.

Under the Australian Consumer Law, a service you pay for must be done correctly and with care and skill. For the electrical work, those rights are against the business you paid.

What we can't promise

  • That an electrician is available for your area or your kind of job.
  • How quickly the electrician calls you, or when they can start.
  • What the work will come to. Only the electrician's written quote can tell you that.
  • That the work passes an inspection. That rests with the electrician and their licence.
  • That a guide on this site fits your home. Guides are general information, not advice about your installation.

Using the site

Please only send real jobs, with your own contact details or details you have permission to use. Fake or prank requests cost an electrician time and money.

The guides, tools and pages here belong to us. You're welcome to link to them and quote a short passage with a link back.

Nothing on this site replaces a licensed electrician looking at your installation. If something seems unsafe, call 000 or your electricity network before you do anything else.

Changes and questions

These terms will be updated as the service grows, and the date at the top of the page changes when they are. Sparky Next Door is run by Blufire Pty Ltd, and Blufire's privacy policy at blufire.com.au/privacy explains how to contact Blufire with a question about them.
