What Wallbox says it is
Wallbox's datasheet lists the Pulsar Plus at 166 x 163 x 82 mm and 1 kg without its cable. It's rated IP54 against water and dust and IK08 for impact, in white or black, with 6 mA DC leakage protection built in.
The tethered version has a 5 m cable, or 7 m as an option on Type 2 models. The 7.4 kW version (32 A) takes a Type 1 or Type 2 plug. The 11 kW (16 A) and 22 kW (32 A) three phase versions are Type 2.
Solar and load management need a meter
Wallbox lists two solar modes. Eco Mode blends spare solar with grid power, and Full-Green charges only from spare solar once there's enough of it. Both need a power meter installed.
So does dynamic load management, which measures what the house is using and gives the rest to the car. If solar is the reason you want a Pulsar Plus, make sure the quote includes the meter.
Ask before you say yes
- Was this unit supplied for Australia, and does it carry the Regulatory Compliance Mark?
- Who handles a warranty claim here? Wallbox covers defects for 3 years from the date of purchase.
- Is it the Pulsar Plus or the newer Pulsar Max, and what's different?
- Which power meter is included for solar charging or load management?
- Will the app pair over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth from where the charger is mounted?
If it were our garage
We'd only buy a Pulsar Plus from an installer who can show it's supplied and supported in Australia. The specs look fine on paper, but a charger without local warranty support is a headache when something fails. If that can't be confirmed, ask the electrician to quote a charger with a clear Australian supply line instead.
