Who it's for
Schneider pitches Schneider Charge at single-family homes. Its Schneider Charge Pro is the version aimed at apartment buildings, so in a strata block that's a conversation for the whole building.
In New South Wales, the government announced on 16 October 2026 that Parliament had passed a strata bill giving owners the right to install EV charging on their own lot without unreasonable objection from the strata committee. The announcement gave no start date.
How it fits a Wiser home
Schneider Charge connects by Wi-Fi or Ethernet and uses OCPP 1.6 to talk to the Schneider Electric Wiser app. Clipsal's Wiser smart home system, from the same company, runs switches like the Iconic range, so a home already using Wiser may be able to keep lights and charging in one place. Ask the electrician to confirm that for your setup.
It also has an input for dynamic energy management, and Schneider says it charges without disrupting the home's power supply.
The specs we could confirm
Schneider's datasheet lists it as IP55 against water and dust and IK10 for impact. It measures 352 x 244 x 117 mm, weighs 4.5 kg and comes in white and green. The contractual warranty is 24 months.
What isn't confirmed, and one to question
- Three phase or socket versions weren't confirmed on Schneider's Australian site.
- Solar-aware charging through the Wiser app wasn't confirmed either.
- If you're quoted the older EVlink Wallbox, ask why. Schneider marks it as to be discontinued.
Where we'd start
On a single phase supply with Wiser already in the house, Schneider Charge is a tidy fit. If solar charging is the priority, ask the electrician to show you how it would work before you commit. Installation is licensed work, so the quote should cover the circuit, the switchboard and the certificate at the end.
