Lines down after a storm? That's Endeavour's job
In Penrith the poles and wires belong to Endeavour Energy. Ring 131 003 for fallen lines or a street-wide outage, stay at least eight metres back, and call 000 if anyone's life is at risk. Anything that got wet stays off until a licensed electrician has checked it.
What shapes electrical work in Penrith
On Endeavour Energy
Ausgrid's own postcode checker lists Endeavour Energy for 2750. Endeavour restores supply after storms and handles meter and supply changes with your electrician.
Units and renters
At the 2021 Census, 43.4% of Penrith's homes were flats or apartments and 60.2% were rented. In NSW, any electrical fault in a rental is an urgent repair for the landlord.
Heat that tests circuits
Penrith's record is 48.9 °C, set on 4 January 2020. Air conditioners running flat out on tired circuits are a common reason breakers trip on hot afternoons.
Hail and the river
The 14 October 2021 supercell dropped hail up to 6 cm across western Sydney, with 24 mm of rain in 30 minutes around Penrith. The Hawkesbury-Nepean has had about 130 moderate to major floods since records began.
Solar changes from 30 November
Postcode 2750 is in the second stage of Endeavour's emergency backstop rollout for new and upgraded rooftop solar, starting 30 November 2026.
The jobs that come up most here
Storm and surge damage. After a big blow the calls are about dead circuits, a safety switch that won't reset, or appliances that died when the power came back. A sparky who does storm work tests the circuits before anything goes back on, and can talk you through whole-house surge protection.
Cooling circuits. A split system sharing a circuit with the kitchen can trip things on the worst days. A dedicated circuit, or a switchboard upgrade with room for one, usually sorts it.
Rental faults. Agents need repairs done fast and documented properly. The electrician lodges a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) for the job, even when it's a like-for-like swap.
What we'd do in Penrith
Before summer, get the switchboard and the air conditioner circuit looked at in the same visit. If the board has no safety switches, or the aircon shares a circuit with half the house, fix that first. It's the fault most likely to leave you sweltering on the hottest afternoon of the year.
